Sunburnt Bride

In the sands of a nomadic life

Photo by the author, Mark Tulin

In this desert theatre,
I wait for you in tattered clothes,
bloodied by the broken glass,
writing love letters in the wind

We will celebrate our bond
under a wooden bridge
among friends who toss old shoes
to celebrate our fertility
