Vision 2030

The Nordic region is the most sustainable and integrated region in the world.
Social care & healthcare services are integrated, and innovations developed in different regions are used across the Nordics.
The Nordic citizens have reported remarkable increase in quality of life.
There is a mutual trust between care providers and users due to secure data processing and management and customized, personalized care.
The care services are built around the individual — they are easily accessible, empowering, and provide more independency and possibilities to make independent choices.

Project Task

Design and present a proposal for system-interfaces, that bring (part of) this vision to expression in the interaction with systems for providing particular professional social and/or health care.

Design Criteria

  • How and how well health- and social care can take place.
  • Articulation and form giving to specific values in interaction with (a part) of the product/system.

Project Perspectives

The vision 2030 points to a shift in the basic roles that people play in social and health-care. In essence, the aim is to shift focus from institution-centric social and healthcare towards designing user-centric services. Thus, taking care of one’s health becomes proactive instead of reactionary.

Primary focus for the course project is the interactions with the system from a perspective of performing professional tasks. A secondary focus is how the design of the system establishes this shift in roles on both the more traditional ‘care receiver’ view and the ‘care provider’ view.
