The Board of Education approved the 2019–20 and 2020–21 District calendars. Both calendars are available on the District website. Spanish versions of the calendar will be posted soon.

The 2019–20 Calendar mirrors the current 2018–19 Calendar with the only change being the last day of school will be a ½ day for all students. The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 21, 2019 for grades 1–2 and Thursday, August 22, 2019 for grades EC and K.

In the 2020–21 Calendar, high school finals and end of the semester will take place before Winter Break. In order to accommodate this change, the first day of school for grades 1–12 will move up two days to Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18 for grades EC and K. The last day of school will continue to be a ½ day for all students.

In 2015, the Board began a new process of posting and subsequently adopting a 2-year calendar. A Calendar Committee, comprised of teachers and support staff from elementary, middle and high schools, along with several District office administrators, gathered feedback from parents, staff and this year, from high school students.

Feedback indicated a desire to move high school finals and the end of 1st semester before Winter Break. An overwhelming 76% of high school students surveyed expressed a desire to move finals and end of semester before Winter Break saying that moving finals would reduce stress.

A significant amount of work will need to take place for this transition, which is why the Calendar Committee and Board determined adding transition time is important. Curriculum and assessments and winter events at all levels will need to be adjusted to account for the shortened 1st semester and other date changes like start date and Institute Days.
