Board approves to bid $7.8 million in summer facilities projects

In keeping true to the Board’s commitment to be fiscally responsible and to invest in high-priority capital facility projects, the Board approved to bid $7.8 million in Summer 2020 projects. The Board has set a budget of $7.2 million for summer projects and hopes that because we are accepting bids early in the year, bids will come in favorably and all work identified will be able to be completed. Summer 2020 projects include:

• roofing projects at Franklin, Johnson, Madison, Monroe, Washington, Wheaton North HS, Wheaton Warrenville South HS and Whittier
• tuckpointing projects at Bower, Emerson, Hawthorne, Sandburg, Washington, Wheaton North HS and Wiesbrook
• paving and concrete projects at Bower, Emerson, Longfellow, Washington, Wheaton North HS, Wheaton Warrenville South HS and Whittier
• flooring projects at Lincoln, Longfellow, Wheaton North HS and Wheaton Warrenville South HS
• mechanical projects at Edison, Hubble, Lincoln, Monroe, Wheaton Warrenville South and Wiesbrook
• upgrade fire alarm system at Monroe
• auditorium upgrades at Monroe, Wheaton North HS and Wheaton Warrenville South HS
• new tennis courts, restripe track and repair drainage on softball fields at Wheaton North HS
• refinish gym floor and restripe field house at Wheaton Warrenville South HS
