Earlier this year, the Board of Education decided to move their policy manual to PRESS Plus, a service of the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB). Board policy manuals often become outdated, despite the best efforts of boards and administrators. A full-maintenance policy service, like PRESS Plus, helps keep a district’s manual current with changes in law, regulations, and local conditions; maintains up-to-date tables of contents, cross-references, and legal citations.

The main changes to the policy manual are consistency in formatting, live links to cross-referenced policies and consistent language across all policies.

Administration and the Board’s HR/Policy Committee have been reviewing the revised policy manual for several months and have brought back any substantive changes to the full Board for review at various meetings. At the June Board meeting, Board members were provided with a copy of the proposed/adoption version of each of these policies, as well as the current policy for reference. The community is invited to view the proposed, revised policy manual on the District website. Questions or comments can be directed to Dr. Charlie Kyle at charles.kyle@cusd200.org or 630–682–2015.
