Congratulations to Ana Gomez!
Ana Gomez, a Junior at Wheaton Warrenville South High School, is in the Professional Cooking, Baking, and Service program at the Technology Center of DuPage (TCD). On March 18, Ana and her TCD teammates took first place at the Illinois ProStart® Invitational! As a result, Ana’s team will compete against the best in the nation at the 2023 National ProStart® Invitational in Washington D.C. on May 2–4. Both competitions give budding culinary and restaurant management students a chance to network with top national chefs and industry professionals. Congratulations, Ana!
TCD offers DuPage County area high school juniors and seniors 20 career and technical education programs (CTE) as part of their high school curriculum. Through TCD programs, students have the opportunity to earn transferable college credit; prepare for industry, state, or national licensing and certification exams; qualify for apprenticeships; or earn scholarships and grants toward college. District 200’s Career Pathways Program aligns with the training and opportunities TCD offers. District 200 students are able to attend TCD during the morning session, five days a week, and learn hands-on job skills for half of their school day. They earn high school and potential college credit while completing their TCD program over one to two years.
