July 28- Updates from Dr. Schuler

District 200 School Community,

Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated their recommendations that everyone in K-12 schools, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status, wear face coverings. The Illinois Department of Public Health has also updated its guidance with additional information about contact tracing and quarantine for the 2021–2022 School Year.

I understand that our school community has questions about what this updated guidance means for the upcoming school year. I ask for your understanding as we review and process these updates. As we did prior to the July 14, 2021 Board of Education Meeting, we will carefully review the updated information from the CDC and IDPH, as well as our local health data, as we continue planning for the 2021–22 School Year.

I look forward to providing you additional updates in the coming weeks.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeff Schuler
Superintendent
