Stacey Bailey Hewick will be the new Principal of Sandburg Elementary beginning in the 2020–21 School Year. Ms. Bailey Hewick will take over from Mr. Aaron Bacon who is retiring in June after 33 years of dedicated service in District 200.

Ms. Bailey Hewick comes to District 200 with a strong educational background. received her B.S. in Speech Pathology Education from Northern Illinois University, teaching certification from North Central College, and immediately began her educational career in District 200.

After teaching for 16 years at Lincoln Elementary and serving as a curriculum leader, Ms. Bailey Hewick served as a Curriculum Coordinator for one year at the District Office before accepting a Principal position at Westfield Elementary in Glen Ellyn in 2014.

Ms. Bailey Hewick received her Administrative Certification at Aurora University; an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University and an English Learner Endorsement from Benedictine University.

Ms. Bailey Hewick’s hire truly represents a coming home for her. Before graduating from Wheaton North High School, Ms. Bailey Hewick attended Sandburg and Monroe Schools. Her son also attended Sandburg School where she often volunteered.

Superintendent Jeff Schuler is very happy that Ms. Bailey Hewick is returning to District 200 and said that, “We welcome Ms. Bailey Hewick home. She is a talented and successful educational leader with the perfect skill set to lead the Sandburg school community.”

Ms. Bailey Hewick is beyond excited to give back to the Sandburg community. “As a former childhood Roadrunner and Sandburg parent, it is an honor, pleasure and privilege to serve and work with the community by nurturing the continued growth of current students and those to come,” said Bailey Hewick.
