At their meeting, the Board approved Mr. Jim Zimmerman as the next Assistant Principal at Edison Middle School. He is replacing Ms. Lauryn Humphris who is moving on to a Principal position in another district.

Mr. Zimmerman comes to District 200 from S.E. His educational background includes a B.S. in Secondary Math Studies from Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville) and an M.A. in Teacher Leadership and an M.A. in Principal Preparation, both from Concordia University Chicago.

Edison Principal Rachel Bednar is thrilled to welcome Zimmerman to Edison. “Jim comes to us with over a decade of excellence as a classroom teacher and coach,” says Bednar. “His warm, outgoing personality and passion for building positive, supportive relationships with students, staff and parents combined with his enthusiastic school spirit will be a wonderful addition to our Edison and District 200 community.”

Mr. Zimmerman is looking forward to this leadership position. “I sought out this position because I have a strong passion to provide students with an unforgettable middle school experience and to create a fun and exciting learning environment,” says Zimmerman. “As Assistant Principal, I will have a great opportunity to bring my passion and positive energy to shape these experiences for students at Edison Middle School and District 200. I am most looking forward to meeting the students, staff, and parents of Edison and building new, positive relationships within the District 200 community.”
