Welcome, Katie DeLarosa
At their May 11 meeting, the Board approved Katie DeLaRosa as the new Assistant Principal at Bower Elementary beginning in the 2022–23 School Year. Mrs. DeLaRosa currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Field and Jefferson Schools in Elmhurst District 205. Prior to that, she taught 1st, 3rd and 4th grades. Mrs. DeLaRosa earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; an M.A. of Reading Instruction from Concordia University Chicago; and an M.A. in Educational Leadership & Organizational Change from National Louis University.
Bower Elementary Principal Bridget Moore is so happy to welcome Mrs. DeLaRosa to her school community. “We are excited about the energy and experience that Katie brings to the position and are excited to welcome her back to the district where she was once a student,” said Mrs. Moore.
Mrs. DeLaRosa’s hire is in fact a “coming home” story and she is thrilled to be joining the Bower Schol community. “Having attended District 200 schools myself, and now a proud parent in the District, I am continually amazed at the dedication and willingness to go above and beyond to support students,” said DeLaRosa. “I look forward to learning alongside my colleagues and continuing to partner with staff and community members to empower students to be the best version of themselves.”
