Every year, the outgoing 5th Grade class at Wiesbrook takes on a class service project. The project serves as a reminder that giving back to others makes them better citizens. This year, the 5th Grade selected the Share Your Soles Foundation for their project. Share Your Soles collects gently used and new shoes for distribution to children and families in developing nations.

In the weeks leading up to the school’s annual Tiger Trot race, students put together and decorated collection boxes and made posters advertising the shoe collection for each classroom. Their hearts and hands truly engaged in this project and made it special for them. At the Tiger Trot on May 11, many hands counted shoes and organized them for the donation. The students were thrilled when the final total was announced — 184 PAIRS OF SHOES for Share Your Soles.

A huge thank you goes to all the incredible parents for their behind the scenes work, shoe counting and idea building. Thank you to fifth grade teachers Mr. Barg, Ms. Hoskins, and Mrs. Olson for supporting and assisting their students with this wonderful project!
