Understand how to productize yourself
I’ve been on both sides. Where you create content and in seconds, you have loads of likes and comments — people praising you for how good your writing is. And I’ve been on the other side where it’s like you’re writing to a wall.
It can be humbling and even de-motivating to experience. Imagine spending hours on one piece, and you get zero response from your audience.
Starting from scratch is even worse. With the tighter algorithms, getting your work to more eyes takes more manual labour. People give up here, but that shouldn’t be the case. Why?
Writing to an audience of 100 people should still give you the same joy as writing to 100k people. Musicians don’t stop performing at a house party with 50 people because they believe he’s used to 100k capacity.
The irony is that you build a stronger connection with the smaller audience than the bigger one.
The Goal Should Be Connection
