Statistics are dynamic, vibrant, living entities. They provide incredible information using numbers only and can be vital in creative and entrepreneurial pursuits.
I want you to ignore them completely — just for now.
Sit with me for a moment. Get as comfortable as you can, right where you are.
Just sit. Just be.
Breathe naturally until you feel yourself relaxing.
Hands relaxed, shoulders relaxing, limbs relaxing, feel any anxiety being released from your tummy and head.
Releasing anxiety and negativity to make room for creativity and imagination.
Remembering why you became a writer; you can feel the bliss of that memory building up within you.
Remembering you are a creation yourself — a divine creation — that is boundless.
The pathway before you.
Now picture the future in your writing journey. See the pathway before you, as you want it to be, as it will be. Feel the tingle of excitement and hope as you see what lies ahead for you.
Acknowledge that you have a direct connection with your precious inner creator, drawing inspiration from within and outside of yourself. From the bounty of the world all around you.
From the cosmos itself.
This connection can never be broken. Unless you wish it to.
You hold the key.
No person, no event — no statistics — can change the creator of beauty and art that you are.
You bring magic to the blank page, forming entire worlds as if they are clay in your hands. You bring the full range of emotions, including amazement and joy, to all who read your work.
You are not your statistics — you are the constant in your writing journey.
Honour your statistics by recognising them, learning from them, and then providing them with the space to flex and grow.
And if the ever-changing statistics nudge a little anxiety or sadness into your heart, remember just exactly who you are.
A boundless creator and a wellspring of beauty and depth.
