“If you focus on success, you’ll have stress. But if you pursue excellence, success will be guaranteed.” — Deepak Chopra

Recently I thought about everything that I have taken on in the last three years. The fears that I faced and the fact that I continued on despite not being supported by those around me.

In that moment I realized that success is not in the outcome. Success lies in the fact that you actually went for it. You actually going for your dreams is already a success. That within itself is already something that you accomplish.

There’s a quote that says; “The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all, because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.” — Les Brown

Celebrate the fact that you succeeded in taking the first step!

We often have this idea that when we finally make a million dollars or we can have a lot of money then and only then we can celebrate, because then and only then have we succeeded. No, we have to break that mindset and stop thinking that way. Success is in the doing.

  • You actually writing that book, that is success.
  • You actually recording your first podcast, that is success.
  • You actually writing your first Medium post, that is success.
  • You actually starting your business, that is success.

You succeeded in taking the first step and that step is always the hardest, because that step is where you have to fight against your own self-doubt, your own fear of failure, your own disbelief in yourself, your own fear of looking foolish.

That is a major success story right there. The only sad part is we never even realize that it is, because we are too focused on the outcome.
