What I’m about to say may sound like a joke, but it’s not: memes are important for PR! But do we now start incorporating them into PR strategy?

As a human who enjoys memes, I say no. Over planning kills fun. Part of the joy of a good meme is that it captures something organic.

As a PR pro, I say, well, we should at least think about how announcements/public appearances/TV hits will live on in internet form. And there are likely even proactive meme opportunities that could help accomplish PR goals.
