For misery likes company, or so they say.

I kept myself calm, holding tight to one memory, the time when being with you felt like home.

And so when clouds started to form, it rebuilt your walls of thick ice between us. When you became your best, you turned out to be the worst for me.

Heartbreaks are as tricky as a state of mind gets, mixed with gratitude yet agony.

We roam with pieces we have no clue how to mend, with no hope neither that they are mendable.

Startled by the speed of life, and how people move on from their so called “eternity”. Forever is now a piece of gum, everybody chews on for fun.

Maybe it was fake, also maybe not. But the only fact now is the feeling of loneliness, after company.

You whispered one too many times how you wished for this all your life, and how it is unbelievable that it came true.

Now I whisper to myself every night, how this heartache was long due.

We were a galaxy apart when we shared the same sofa. We were always apart, just physically placed there where it seemed like we belonged.

And if anyone asks you, what’s wrong, keep nodding as you walk your steps away. Who cares what’s in your heart when you chose to be the one that got away 💜
