Are you a perfect mom ?
My fellow ladies who also happen to be moms ,specially the brand new moms or the ones relatively new to motherhood, it is time to have a look at this question staring at you. Are you a good mom? Are you doing it the right way it should be done?
Ever since that tiny bundle of mirth was handed over to you, everybody around you, right from your mother, your in laws, the neighborhood aunts, the far off relatives, your colleagues in office, your maid and so on, everyone has a word of advice for you. All of a sudden, your affair is everybody else’s business. Oh why is the child so thin? or fat? Why are you making her wear sweaters in winter? Why are you spoiling the child? Why are you not pampering the child enough? Looks like you are only interested in your career. This is not the correct way to raise one. Why are you not able to handle everything? When I was your age, I already had 3 kids and look how well they are doing today .The list goes on and on and on.
The question which arises is -How to be the perfect mom or rather-
Who is a perfect mom ? The answer is someone who stares right back at you in the mirror. Yes, You are a perfect mom. Because, nobody in the world knows what is best for her child better than the mother.There is absolutely no need to seek any certification from any of the above mentioned institutes (read as your own mom, your in-laws, your neighbors etc). You are already certified .So if you have experienced that a certain syrup works well for your sneezing son, no need to make him go through the ordeal by drinking that homemade insipid concoction suggested by the aunt from the far off city. It can be vice versa as well. Similarly, if you think your daughter is better at doing roller skates, no need to badger her into joining that dance class to which the neighbor sends her child. Every mother has the best sixth sense and perfectly knows what suits her child and what is good for her. Yes, there can be guidance and there can be assistance which are always required but in the end, it's your call.And the whole world and its aunt have no business to command you over how you raise your child.
Every baby is beautiful and incomparable in the eyes of a mother. And the mother ,whether she is working or a housewife, whether from Meerut or Manhattan, would go all guns blazing, if ever harm was done to her child. So all you worked up ladies out there, no need to feel guilty at all. Here's the message- Sit back and relax.You are doing a perfect job of a mom.
