Don’t Cross The Bridge Till You Come To It
Every Sunday, I get out of town with a dear friend.
She’s a certified badass and the most empowered woman I’ve ever had the honor of knowing. Last weekend, we walked the Carquinez Bridge for four hours. What sunshine, fresh air, and a little socializing do for your soul is truly amazing.
I thought for sure, at forty-two, I’d have it all figured out. At the very least, I would still have a husband, a family, and a house.
While my friend and I walked ten miles through Crockett, I noticed how good it felt to wander around an unfamiliar town, figuring out our route with each step. And what a relief it was to leave my teenage kids at home while I lived my life for a little while.
I haven’t a clue what tomorrow brings. Or where I’ll be in ten years. But one thing is certain: I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
