Moon enters Virgo 12:59 AM EDT
Moon is now in practical, perfectionist Virgo, where we will wax unto Full at 27 degrees over tomorrow night/Friday morning in the wee hours. There are numerous lunar aspects to traverse before we culminate this impending lunation, so today and tomorrow may feel highly anticipatory. We will step into Moon quincunx both Mars and Venus this afternoon and evening…Mars and Venus are both in Aquarius, still running quite close to conjunct, though far from exact now at a distance of 1.8 degrees. Virgo Moon is a hotbed of mental emotional activity, and can provoke anxiety when it encounters rationally detached Aquarian Venus and Mars, planets of love and action. Virgo Moon will have us attending to matters of practicality and organization during this time, and we already have Venus in a place that compartmentalizes and can reprioritize relationships. Connection is all about the cerebral right now, and it’s time to think our way through emotion, to find a way to make it work for us. Moon will then make a quincunx to Chiron, the Wounded Healer, in Aries following. Yes, a quincunx on either side to planets that sextile is a Yod like what we experienced yesterday, but it’s important to remember that Chiron is an asteroid, and though a powerful influence when activated in one’s chart, is not as powerful in a collective sense, and it DOES NOT COUNT FOR YODS. The rules for Yods place the fastest moving planet or luminary at the apex, and asteroids and dwarf planets and such do not count. Traditional astrologers don’t include anything past the visible planets in their practice either way if they’re actually traditional astrologers, and modern astrologers who DO include outer planets debate but generally agree upon the fact that we don’t count asteroids in Yods. If a client has a prominent Chiron in the chart, that may be a big factor in transits for THEM and count in a Yod, especially as the apex being transited, but there are many chart related individual variables to consider in that discernment. Digression aside, we have an uncomfortable quincunx to Chiron today that may trigger feelings of self-doubt or insecurity in relationships or in present directions as this tense aspect forms to Venus and Mars from critical Virgo Moon, but it will be fleeting. Look for rationality for comfort, and shut down any negative self-talk as soon as it starts. Moon will make a difficult opposition to Mercury in Pisces at 10:08 PM EDT and the clarity we need may be elusive, considering that Mercury is walking through a muddled haze of Piscean confusion where it is not in a comfortable sign as far as Mercury is concerned, and the Virgo Moon need for precision may feel like too much pressure. Moon will then trine Uranus in Taurus at 11:25 PM EDT, where Virgo Moon loves giving direction to whatever the changes of Uranus in Taurus is seeking to establish. Uranus can bring instability and questions that lead to an awakening, and Virgo Moon can rapidly process that and get us motivated once again. Virgo Moon is ever so close to Full, and that makes today and tomorrow have this feeling of deeply imperative action, we aren’t satisfied with sitting still, unlike what we experience under all of the Pisces planets we’ve been working with lately.
