There are several different dress types out there that people are buying for a variety of different occasions. Every dress will be different depending on the occasion and style of dress you are getting the dress for. Another thing is that different dresses look better and more flattering on different body types and shapes. Dresses are a little more challenging to find the perfect one, but a couple of dresses are the most common in general.

1)A-Line dress

~ A-line dresses are more subtle than ball gown dresses. It is the most popular because it will look good on almost every body shape and size. The A-line dress is called because the skirt is shaped like an A. It states on Wedding Wire, that “This universally-flattering silhouette is ideal for all body types and wedding styles, whether yours is bohemian, classic, beachy, or something in between.” No matter what style your wedding or event is inside or outside, an A-line dress is so classic and timeless. A-line dresses will never go out of style, they are simple yet elegant.

2)Mermaid dress

~ Mermaid-style dresses have a much more seductive, hip-hugging shape to the dress from top to bottom. It is a statement piece dress to add drama to your look. On Wedding Wire, it states that “This attention-grabbing silhouette flares out at the knees and is often paired with tulle, ruching, or ruffled skirts for added wow factor.” This is definitely a red-carpet dramatic-looking dress, and the flares on the bottom are something to wow and surprise all your guests. This dress is perfect for any woman, especially if you got the curves or want to look like you got curves if you are slim.

3)Fit and Flare dress

~This dress is perfect for women who want to show off their figure without the dramatic form-fitting mermaid silhouette. It still hugs your body in the bust and was, but it is flare from the hips down. It states on Bridal Gown Studio Orlando that “It isn’t as full as an A-line design and doesn’t have as much emphasis on the figure as the trumpet skirt.” This dress is for the woman who wants something in the middle between an A-line dress and the trumpet or mermaid-style dress. It is still flattering your figure no matter your shape or size.

4)Sheath dress

~Sheath dresses are very similar to mermaid-style dresses because they are both forming fitting from top to bottom. The only difference is that it usually doesn’t have lace, is made from a different material, and has no waist seam. Masterclass states that “The sheath silhouette emphasizes your curves (especially useful for curvy or hourglass figures) and will often feature slits for freedom of movement.” This dress is a stunner and staple for a lot of occasions, and with the slits, it still adds some drama and elegance to the dress. It also states on Wedding Wire, that they “are a flattering option for hourglass figures, or slim and petite brides.” This dress is perfect for your big day or even when going somewhere formal, like parties or meetings.

5)Ball Gown

~ Ball gowns are another style of dress that is very common for proms, quinceaneras, and weddings. They are made for more big and fancy events because they are big and dramatic dresses. It states in Masterclass that “ball gowns include additional embellishments to accentuate the shape further and create a much more dramatic fairytale silhouette.” This dress will most certainly give you that fairytale dress feeling, it is the common dress style of all times, with different styles to fit every woman. It is a very traditional but modern style dress to wear that will have all eyes on you.
