Movement of the World
I woke to trees dancing,
gentle swaying, tight buds singing in the breeze.
The air is softer today,
though more snow may grace the morrow.
The geese are back,
their flocking tempered for days
by leaden skies and subzero temps.
Do their feet freeze on landing?
Do they attempt it at all?
I have seen the migrating many
all aflutter, all stolidly…
