Listen up folks. Pray this way, pray that way.

Is there a “best way to pray?”

Well, actually there is.

>>> The way that gets your prayers HEARD AND ANSWERED

-is the best way!

This article is going to discuss the concept of PRAYING WITH YOUR EYES SHUT -on purpose-so you can shut out the distractions of the world and actually hear what your heavenly Father is saying to you.

Does that sound o.k.?

Let’s go!

Ever wonder why folks shut their eyes when they get talking to the Lord? Well, let me tell you, it ain’t just about catching a nap in the middle of the day. There’s more to it than that, much more.

Think of it like this: You’re in a crowded hockey game, folks are ALL riled up, shoutin’ at the players, the refs, at each other. There is A LOT of action going on (sound like . . . “life?”)

And there you sit, trying to carry on a conversation with the one who created you.

How you gonna go about getting that done?

SHUT IT OUT!

Shut what out?

ALL THAT RUCKUS-THAT’S WHAT!!

Folks pick on it and say you’re just being lazy if you close your eyes while praying. That is simply not correct. The truth is you can pray standing up, sitting down, with your eyes open

-OR WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED

What is the most important part about it all?

THIS

>>> That you GET HEARD..and HEAR BACK (in your heart)

What you feel the Lord is telling you in response to your conversation with Him!

That’s what closing your eyes during prayer is all about. It ain’t about ignoring the world around you, it’s about tunin’ out the background noise, the everyday hustle and bustle that keeps your mind from connecting with your creator.

See, prayer actually is a conversation.

You gotta quiet your soul to get used to hearing His voice, His responses, back inside your spirit.

It’s also about showing humility, as well. It’s like bowing your head before the king. Closing your eyes is a way of saying, “Alright, Lord, I’m all ears.

Speak your wisdom!”

So next time you see someone bow their head and closing their eyes when praying, don’t jump to criticize. They just might be SERIOUS about their praying and are just sincerely trying to make a connection
