Snake: Its Symbolism And Other Associations
Before humans began using the writing we know of today, they learned, through observation of the natural world, to use symbolism. It was used as one of our species first forms of communication. Since symbolism is an ancient form of communication for our species, symbols are etched very deeply into our Being, into our deeper subconscious. We may be modern people on the outside, but on the inside we carry the antiquity of the ages, going back, even, to the very first splitting of an atom that created the universe. We carry this antiquity, this memory, within our DNA, and I agree with the writer of this article that it has associations with our ancestors… narrowly speaking, with our own blood and bone ancestors, but, more broadly speaking, with the ancestry of our entire species.
A symbol is a representation of something. And thus a symbol carries the energy of what it represents. And so symbols also carry the ability to teach us about the specific energy that they carry, what they represent. If we study symbolism, and are able to absorb from the symbols their deeper meanings, I feel that we will have…
