Divi Weekly Recap — Jan 13, 2021
Welcome to the first Divi Project Weekly Recap. Moving forward, we will be creating these posts each week so the community can stay updated and gain some insight into what goes on behind the scenes. These will be brief but touch on any key news, announcements, and information. We hope you enjoy them!
General Project News
- Last month we made our first major blockchain update which brought with it lottery changes and staking vault functionality, along with a large-scale increase in blockchain efficiency.
- We currently have 1530 masternodes deployed, and we’re nearing our all-time high.
- This week we surpassed our all-time-high allocated DIVI by over 66 million. We now have 1,078,600,000 DIVI allocated to masternodes!
- Wallet sign-ups continue to grow, with 15,500 people excited for the release. If you haven’t signed up, visit http://diviwallet.com to sign up.
Divi Wallet Development
- With the successful release of the Mobile Wallet beta in December (Release 1.0.1), in addition to the quality testing we’re getting through, we are also excited about how well our wallet has been received. Our users have said they find it fun to use and incredibly easy to send and receive crypto.
- 50 testers currently have the wallet in their hands, with plans to add 15 more at the end of this week. We plan to add new testers every week going forward, so stay tuned.
- We’re putting the final touches on Mobile MOCCI as a part of the next beta release, 1.0.2. We have already seen the successful deployment of nodes from within the mobile wallet on the Divi Testnet. We will aim to release content once the beta testers have had the time to test.
- The dev team has spent this week refining the UX/UI aspects that our testers have given feedback on.
- We’re integrating push notifications for rewards, deposits, in-wallet news, and announcements.
- With the addition of staking vault capability to the Divi blockchain, we’re hoping to see functionality pushed to testers shortly. If you haven’t read about the codebase refactor, check out this clip from the most recent Live at Five!
Marketing
- The final touches to the new roadmap are nearly complete and the page will be live on the site by the end of the week. The roadmap follows our “now, next, later, and launched” framework. This will be updated each month so you can follow along and see how we’re progressing. We know this is important to the community, so we’re excited to share it with you.
- Our brand new blog is nearing completion and we have been busy creating the SEO strategy and content. This will allow us to become discoverable to new audiences who aren’t aware of Divi. We hope to get the blog live by the end of the month.
- Communication with the community is integral. Many of our emails have been landing in spam folders. We will be conducting an email test next week which we’ll need your help with. We will be asking you to check your various folders (including spam) to find our emails and mark them as “not spam” if it does happen to land there. We appreciate your help here.
- The next Live at Five will be Friday the 29th of January at 5 pm PST — we hope you can join us. Moving forward we will be creating a write-up of the key points for the blog so you don’t miss a thing. We will also create video clips to share on our socials, for those that prefer more snackable content!
The Community Corner
- Thank you to everyone who has submitted their competition entries! Remember, you have until Wednesday the 27th of January at 11 PM EST to submit a video that ‘brings Divi into the real world’. For complete guidelines and more information, visit the Divi Contests Telegram.
- Winners of the competition will receive DIVI and the ability to join our beta-testing group! First place will win 30,000 DIVI, second place, 20,000 DIVI, and third place 10,000 DIVI.
- Attention masternode owners: We’re encouraging everyone to update their user settings with current contact information! This allows us to get in contact with you, should your node need attention. This can be set-up under the ‘user’ tab on the desktop wallet. If you need any help with this, please feel free to visit our support channel on Telegram or Discord.
A word from the team…
After our blockchain update, many exchanges had to update their wallets and therefore suspended withdrawals and deposits. We understand this is incredibly frustrating for people. These things often take a few days, which can be unnerving when you cannot access your coins.
For some context, many other chains had wallet updates at the same time. We spoke to Bithumb, who told us they got slammed with 38 different chains needing updates, out of the 270+ they have listed. This level of update represents an incredible amount of work for the exchange.
Exchanges must do their due diligence in protecting and preserving their clients’ assets. They all have security procedures they must follow, which are oftentimes lengthy, but necessary.
If you’re experiencing issues accessing your coins on one of the exchanges, please stay in contact with them until reconciliation is complete. Even though we can’t control their response, our support stars still love to help, even if it’s just guidance!
Finally, a big thank you to the people in the community who reached out over the last week with ideas for this recap. Your input is very much appreciated!
As always, we welcome your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas. If there is something you want to see, or you think we could do it differently, please reach out to us on Telegram or email info@diviproject.com with your thoughts. All ideas will be considered!
Other than that, take care, and we will see you all next week!
— The Divi Team.
