A colorful bird with a yellow head, white body, and blue wings, perched and sat atop a telephone wire. He felt sad because he was short and stout, and his brother and sister had just hurt his feelings.

“You can’t fly as high or as long as we can,” Sister Bird teased.

“You’re too short and plump,” Brother Bird mocked. “We’re lean and pristine.” A one-eyed dove flew by and then landed on the telephone wire.

“Pardon me little bird, but why so glum?”

“I am not lean like my brother and sister, nor can I fly as long or as high as they can,” the little bird said.

“So what?” the dove said. “Does it bother you that I only have one eye?”

“No,” the little bird answered.

“I am sure you have other talents that your brother and sister do not have,” the dove assured him.

“I ‘m a good singer,” the little bird said.

“Prove it,” the dove said.

The little bird sang his song and birds from near and far came to rejoice in the little bird’s voice. Even the little bird’s brother and sister came; jealousy struck their hearts knowing they could never sing like the little bird.

“We all have our special talents,” the dove said. “We can do some stuff better than others.

Amplify your strengths little bird, not your weaknesses!!”
