After we have sprinted to our first MVP 2 months ago, we are now, 6 weeks after our launch on the 18th of July, ready to take a breath and share some news and insights with you.

At dl-remote.com, we are curating and matching selected top tech professionals with employers who are offering long-term positions with a high degree of remote/ home-office work.

In the last 6 weeks more than 600 global tech talents have signed up and we have completed more than 60 extensive video and text interviews with selected top talents. In parallel, we have seen in the last 3 weeks a significant uptake of employer signups and staffed the first positions successfully.

As an integral part of a talent´s profile on dl-remote.com, we have designed an open interview format which surfaces the personality, communication style and overall cultural fit without pre-assessing and “clustering” talent into fixed categories. Employer and talent feedback for this format has been very good so far, and we got some extremely helpful feature and content requests. This is an area where we will try to continuously innovate, and work with partners to optimize DL Remote for talents and employers alike.

Our key findings for the different user groups on DL Remote so far:

  • Tech Talents/ Professionals on DL Remote are interested to work in challenging roles at ambitious, remote ready companies. They appreciate a fast and to the point onboarding process as well as a profile which reflects their true preferences and collaboration style
  • Remote-first companies on DL Remote are especially keen to find and attract global top talent, senior and experienced in their tech and remote collaboration role
  • Remote-ready startups on DL Remote are keen to find carefully curated global tech talent to effectively fill skill gaps in their teams, without exploding freelancer costs
  • Midsized and large enterprises on DL Remote — who have mostly just started to integrate remote work for selected organizational units — are especially interested to attract otherwise unreachable global top talents and sharpen their employer brand in general

In the next weeks, we will focus our efforts on finetuning our onboarding process, talent interviews and talent profile. Furthermore, we will improve our matching algorithm to better reflect cultural “similarity” aside from technical fit.

While the last 2 months have been a tremendous hustle [and quite a change from my corporate life before I have to admit 😉), I love this journey and feel truly blessed to be able to contribute to the remote work revolution while working with so many talented Digital Professionals alongside.

Please get back to me, my co-founder Stefan or our technical lead Gero if you have any feedback, demands or concrete feature requests for dl-remote.com.
