Hello — here’s the latest from dlab!

Despite a pretty rocky couple of weeks for many crypto investors, we’re happy to report there are plenty of very exciting things to be positive about in the portfolio. Fortunately, it’s always a good time to build!

Let’s start off the good news by introducing our latest portfolio company, Sollar, a decentralized structured product and clearing protocol, who aims to deliver a suite of products to users. They are starting with fixed rate lending backed by delta neutral options strategies.

Sollar is currently deployed on Solana Devnet and the team aims to be live on Mainnet by Q4 2022.

To stay up to date on the latest from Sollar, follow them on Twitter or join their Discord.

Meet Us at Consensus

We’ll be attending Consensus 2022 in Austin, Texas! Bring on the bbq.

If you’re in town, let us know — our DMs are open! We look forward to seeing old friends (and meeting new ones).

Portfolio Company Updates

There have been several big updates from the API3 team since we last wrote to you. First, their QRNG service is now live! Powered by Australia National University’s Quantum Random Numbers API, the service produces truly random numbers (using quantum mechanics), useful for everything from hardcore cryptography to gaming to NFT generation. The best part? It’s free to use. They’ve also recently partnered with Accuweather to make weather data available on-chain via their own first-party Airnode. I expect we’ll see a variety of interesting use cases for this information, including parametric insurance, simulated metaverse experiences, and weather derivatives.

Looking to bring your own API on-chain? You can now join ChainAPI’s closed beta to integrate your API with all Airnode-supported blockchains, including Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, Gnosis Chain, and several others.

Registration for Composable’s inaugural conference opened on May 24. Composable Unchained will take place on July 1, 2022 in Berlin. In addition to talks by DeFi leaders from Composable, Polkadot, Cosmos, and Ethereum, the event will also include a live demo of Composable’s Cross-Chain Virtual Machine (XCVM) as well as a workshop and hackathon.

Crayonic has launched the consumer version of KeyVault on Product Hunt. KeyVault uses biometric authentication to secure its user’s identity. Fingerprint, handwriting, and voice recognition are used to guarantee Proof-of-Freewill, ensuring passwordless authentication, data encryption, and safe credential management.

Interested in building financial models with Python? This video breaks down Credmark’s Model Framework. If you’d like to learn more, or stay updated on other developments the team is working on (including new models), they have opened up their internal meetings to the public; “The State of Credmark” takes place on Mondays at 10am CST. Join their Discord to get involved. You can also check out their recent report on UST’s collapse.

Coming to Austin for Consensus 2022? Credmark’s core team will be attending from June 9–12. They’re also hosting a party on Thursday night, be sure to follow their Twitter for more updates.

Light Protocol has partnered with BarrelDAO, a web3-native brewery and distillery, who has built a private checkout process incorporating Light’s privacy SDK. This makes them the first live production integration of the SDK, which is a super exciting milestone. Swen, one of Light’s core contributors, was also featured on the Cove podcast, where he spoke about the importance of zk-proofs and the UX-liquidity flywheel that will allow more users to take advantage of private transactions on Solana.

Milkomeda continues to ship at a breakneck pace! Their Cardano C1 sidechain continues to see solid usage as new applications are deployed. Speaking of new applications, selections are being finalized for batch 1 of the Milkomeda Accelerator program. We’re really excited about some of the startups that will be participating in the program, read more about them here.

Meanwhile, the other massive news from the Milkomeda team is that they have successfully deployed the first version of their rollup to the Algorand testnet!

Quidli has expanded their token offerings to include DOT, BNB, BUSD, AVAX, SOL, and SHIB. They’re always on the lookout for new additions/token partnerships, so if you’re a DAO or a founder at a token organization, or know someone who might be interested in including their token in sharing incentives, don’t hesitate to reach out to the team.

The website also has a brand new look — if you haven’t checked it out yet, keep your eyes peeled for some buried treasure at the bottom of the webpage (I mean ocean). They’ve also started releasing user stories, so you can listen to yours truly explain how helpful Quidli has been at increasing engagement for our internal Discord. Other speakers also include Rebecca Hallquist, Community Team Lead at Near Foundation, and Suvansh Basnal, Co-Founder and Head of Sales, Flexiple.

WeatherXM has already shipped the first batch of 1000 weather stations, which are being deployed worldwide, actively collecting weather data. The next batch of 4000 units has already been sold, and the company is currently expanding manufacturing capability to meet demand. Join the hardware waiting list if you want to be part of the weather revolution (you can also join their discord to find out more).

That’s June’s update. Thanks for reading! In the meantime, follow us on Twitter to hear more about the latest from dlab.
