09.04.2024. flash poem

i started this book about habits.
i wasn’t getting into it
until it started talking about process
and how processes are usually more important
than outcomes or products.

like — outcomes last just a second;
process is the joy that’s always there,
the marvel in how you do things.

it got me thinking about my processes
and those of the trees hanging over me…

trees use sun to grow a little each day.

is that what i’ve been doing?
or is that what i’m starting with just recently?

i want to…
love
exist
create
live
in ways that center growth in the sun…

i seek freedom,
or at least the search for it,
freedom of the soul.
blue.

i hope i find it…
wait no,
that’s all wrong!

i hope it finds me,
and i’m ready for it.

this time
i’m gonna be ready.
