The first day of 3x3 Basketball action for the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers and Lady Archers see contrasting results as the former capped Day 1 with a 3–1 record while the latter ended with a 1–3, earlier today at CaSoBe Batangas.

The Green Archers began their UAAP Campaign with a 12–18 defeat courtesy of the AdU Soaring Falcons. However, the boys were able to shake this off and went on to win their remaining Day 1 games.

In their second game, Donn Lim’s six points off 57% shooting, one rebound, and two assists helped lead the Archers to a 15–10 rout of the ADMU Blue Eagles. Ben Phillips also chipped in five markers from 50% shooting, four rebounds, and one block, while Ralph Cu contributed four points, five rebounds, and one assist.

In the following match versus the FEU Tamaraws, the Archers once again showed a dominant performance, securing their 2nd win commandingly, 22–9. All players contributed — both Cu and Lim had seven apiece while Phillips tallied six and Emman Galman contributed two.

The Green Archers’ game against the NU Bulldogs was a nailbiter where the Taft-based squad escaped with a one-point victory, 19–18. Point production was well-spread for La Salle as Lim, Phillips, and Cu ended with five each, while Galman added with four of his own.

It was a heartbreaking Day 1 for the Lady Archers as they dropped their first two games losing by a point, 10–11 to the UST Lady Tigresses, and 12–13, against the FEU Lady Tamaraws.

The girls, however, were able to find their footing in the third match, winning 9–7 against the ADU Lady Falcons. Bettina Binaohan contributed to this victory the most with five points and seven rebounds, while Co-Captain Marga Jimenez contributed two points as well as five rebounds, and one assist. Angel Quinco also shared the load with two points, seven rebounds, and one assist.

However, the Lady Archers once again came up short against the ADMU Lady Eagles, dropping their last match of the day, 10–13.

The Green Archers (3–1) will aim to extend their winning streak tomorrow as they take on the UST Growling Tigers at 11:45AM and the UP Fighting Maroons at 1:15PM. The Lady Archers (1–3), on the other hand, will be seeking to improve their standings as they battle UP Fighting Maroons at 10AM and the NU Lady Bulldogs at 12PM. The games will all be played at the same venue.
