The De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Booters Team 1 fell to the Adamson University (AdU) Soaring Falcons, 0–1, earlier today, at the University of the Philippines (UP) Football Pitch. This result marked La Salle’s first loss in their Ang Liga Season 19 campaign.

The Falcons were in control and created more scoring opportunities in the first 25 minutes of the match, but the Green Booters were eventually able to find their footing on both the offense and defense as the game progressed. In the 27th minute, a poor tackle by Keivenn Banagodos resulted in a yellow card, awarding a free kick to La Salle. However, the free kick which was taken by Jeff Tolimao, flew over the bar.

In the dying embers of the first half, the Green and White had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock as Enrique Vecin went one-on-one with Adamson’s keeper, but this sequence proved to be futile as the game remained goalless before halftime.

La Salle started the second half with good plays mainly by Gabe Suarez delivering dangerous crosses into the box. Throughout the game, La Salle was able to defend well as a unit. In the 69th minute, Ico Mangaoang was able to pull an expert save as the Falcons tried to score. However, the Green Booters’ defense was not enough as the strong dribble of Roque Empleo Jr. who sidefooted the ball past Mangaoang, 0–1, scoring the match’s lone goal.

Late efforts by the Green Booters to score in the second half via corners and free kicks, these efforts were unable to score an equalizer. The match soon finished with the Falcons giving La Salle their first loss of the tournament, 0–1.
