DLSU vs. Adamson Lady Falcons
The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Archers yielded to the Adamson University (AdU) Lady Falcons, 17-19, for their first match on Day 3, earlier today for the UAAP S86 3x3 Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay — Activity Center.

The Lady Falcons were the first one to light their fires for the game with Katrina Agojo and April Tano leading the charge, and the latter even extending the lead to five from the deep, 8-3. Despite Tricia Mendoza and Lee Sario’s efforts to rekindle La Salle’s scoring, the Lady Falcons maintained a firm grip when it came to ball possession throughout the match, and further driving their scoring with good rebound plays. Adamson’s greatest lead even reached 10 points with Tano’s shot from the deep once again, 3-13, but Mendoza and Sario managed to buy a little more time to cut the lead with drawn fouls on the Falcons, 9-14. After a flurry of shots, Sario’s midrange basket and Mendoza’s layup finally handed the lead to Taft with 30 seconds left, 16-15, but Cheska Apag refused to bow down as the Lady Falcon unleashed a last-minute two-pointer to regain the lead for AdU, 16-17. With 10 seconds left, Mendoza kept La Salle’s hopes alive, forcing the game to an overtime with a layup, 17-all. After remaining down for most of the match, the Lady Archers managed to turn the tide, but La Salle’s hopes were dashed unexpectedly when Apag drew a final foul against Mendoza and made two free throws to seal the deal, marking the Lady Archers’ first match and loss of the day, 17-19.

DLSU vs. Ateneo Blue Eagles
In their second match of the day, the DLSU Lady Archers experienced another loss but this time at the hands of the Ateneo de Manila University (Ateneo) Blue Eagles, 14-17, for the UAAP S86 3x3 Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay — Activity Center.

The Blue Eagles initially gained the upperhand with Quinn Dela Rosa driving the offense for an early 1-2 lead. With a foul-driven sequence within the first few seconds of the game, the Blue Eagles swooped in for the onslaught until Mendoza and Sario finally forced a 5-all deadlock. Halfway through the game, the Lady Archers were trailing behind by four, 6-10, as the ring refused to chug down every attempt made by La Salle. But the Lady Archers were successful in drawing fouls against Ateneo as Sario finally narrowed the gap to one with a layup and a free throw, 9-10. Counting down to two minutes, Mendoza duplicates Sario’s move with a layup and a foul to knot the score at 11-all. But with less than a minute left, the Dela Rosa-led Blue Eagles tore a page off of La Salle’s books, drawing fouls and converting free throws during the dying parts of the game. A final free throw from Dela Rosa with 30 seconds left eventually sealed the match in favor of the Ateneo, 14-17.

Support the DLSU Lady Archers as they aim to bounce back against the University of the Philippines (UP) Lady Maroons tomorrow, May 5, 12:00 PM, at the same venue.
