The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Batters absorbed another defeat at the hands of the University of the Philippines (UP) Women’s Softball Varsity Team yesterday at the UP Diliman Softball Field. The Lady Batters were held scoreless throughout the match while the Maroons scored in the first and fourth innings to clinch their victory.

In their second-round encounter with the Maroons, the Lady Batters found themselves in an early 0-2 deficit after UP's Danica Aquino and Generose Torremocha were able to connect on hits and score runs. Meanwhile, the girls in Green were unable to land meaningful hits to solidify their place on the field.

Following this, La Salle was able to tighten up their fielding, racking up consecutive outs for UP in the following two periods. The fourth inning, however, saw lapses in the outfield of the Green and White as their errors combined with hits from Algrace Adajar and Martine Francisco allowed the Maroons to garner three more points, 0-5.

After another set of empty innings from both sides, the Lady Batters' lack in the offensive department proved to be detrimental as they ultimately surrendered to the Maroons at the end of the seventh inning, 0-5.

With heads held high, the Lady Batters look to bounce back in their upcoming game against the Ateneo Women’s Softball Team this Saturday, March 16, 5 PM at the same venue.
