The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Batters encountered a formidable opponent in the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tiger Softbelles earlier today, resulting in a challenging 0–9 defeat for the Green and White. While the scoreboard may not have favored DLSU, the determination and resilience displayed by our Lady Batters were evident throughout the match.

From the outset, UST came out strong, securing runs in the first and third innings, putting pressure on our Lady Batters. Despite their best efforts on the field, DLSU found themselves facing an uphill battle against a relentless UST offense.

As the game progressed, the tension mounted, with both teams vying for control. However, it was UST who capitalized on a pivotal moment in the final frame to clinch the victory. With the bases loaded and the score at 0–5 in favor of UST, the Tiger Softbelles’ Kikay Palma delivered a crushing blow, sending a triple deep into left field, driving home Christine Bautista and Helga Campos.

A subsequent error by DLSU’s center-fielder, Kyle Matarong, followed by another error by Kristina Reyes, only added to the Tigers’ lead, sealing their triumph with four additional runs in the seventh inning.

Looking ahead, DLSU sets its eyes a comeback as they prepare to face the the Adamson Lady Falcons in their next match, on Saturday, March 23, 3 PM at the same venue.
