The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Booters secured a triumphant victory over the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Lady Booters with a final score of 3–0, earlier today at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman Football Stadium.

In the game’s opening moments, Shai Del Campo made a spirited attempt at an early goal, but Pao Garcia’s quick defensive reflexes thwarted the effort at the net. Following this, UST demonstrated solid defensive prowess across the field, particularly with Sacey Toledo’s interception, denying any advancement for La Salle. Then Chenny Danoso made a shot attempt for the Green and White, but it sailed over the net.

As the clock ticked to 11 minutes, La Salle continued to striving for an inaugural goal such as Samantha Toledo’s subsequent goal attempt in the next minute, but it fell short again.

Despite La Salle’s persistence with corner kicks, UST remained vigilant in deciphering the former’s offensive tactics. As the game progressed, both teams engaged in a back-and-forth battle, showcased by clean passing exchanges, as both vied to break the deadlock.

The game remained scoreless up until Lyka Teves scored the opening goal for La Salle from outside the box at the 35th-minute mark, courtesy of a precise pass from Anicka Castañeda, marking her second goal of the season, 1–0.

Despite the UST Lady Booters facing challenges in defense against La Salle’s skillful play, the España-based squad refused to yield, continuing to try switch the momentum in their favor. A few sequences later, Toledo made another goal attempt, but it did not lead to a score change. Castañeda seized an opportunity for a goal in the 39th minute, but UST’s Garcia thwarted her attempt.

During the 44th minute mark, Toledo made another goal attempt, but narrowly missed the target. In the final three minutes of added time of the first half, Danoso attempted to give La Salle the lead with a shot attempt, but this too fell short. The opening half of the game soon closed out with the same score of 1–0.

At the beginning of the second half, Teves quickly applied pressure on UST’s defense as she made a precise pass to Maria Layacan in a bid to add another goal for the Green and White. But UST defenders then cleared the ball. From there, both teams executed aggressive transitions, exemplified at the 51:30 mark when Delos Reyes sought to intercept, countered by Quiman’s adept defense. On the other hand, UST attempted to equalize with Dai Logastua creating a goal attempt two minutes later, but La Salle held onto a steady defense, thwarting UST’s persistent attempts to score. UST then gradually started to gain momentum in the next few minutes. Undeterred, the Taft-based squad demonstrated determination, refusing to relent and launched another offensive.

For a while, the scoreline remained the same up until the 74th minute, when Danoso scored a goal off a pass from Castañeda, disrupting UST’s defensive strategy and solidifying a comfortable 2–0 lead.

Despite UST’s attempts to score, La Salle maintained momentum, showcasing their determination to secure the win. As the clock ticked to just six minutes left in the match, both teams displayed skillful passing and possession. Although UST’s defense remained resilient, they struggled against La Salle’s potent offense. In the final minute, Castañeda, who provided two assists earlier in the game, takes a shot that narrowly misses. Then, during the additional stoppage time, Del Campo slotted the ball in the box, adding to the Green and White’s advantage, 3–0. Despite UST’s efforts to stay organized, La Salle’s relentless offense soon sealed a dominant victory.
