The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers (1–6) were unable to take home the glory against the University of the Philippines (UP) Lady Maroons (4–3), 8–21, 7–21, yesterday at the Sands SM by the Bay.

With this loss, the girls in Green and White ended their UAAP Beach Volleyball tournament unable to secure another victory and a place in the Semifinals to keep moving forward this UAAP Season 86.

UP made it clear that they were not going to let the girls from Taft take a victory against them, as the former pulled away immediately at the start of the game. The first set was a blistering hot one as La Salle tried to keep their momentum, but the Fighting Maroons were not phased as the Archers struggled to find their rhythm. The first set soon ended with the Maroons holding a wide separation, 8–21.

DLSU tried to regain their footing as the second set rolled in. But, UP did not let them strike for too long and continued to try and secure the win early. La Salle gave their best shot but could not seem to hold the fight for too long as the second set closed out at 7–21.

Even if the Lady Spikers’ Season 86 Beach Volleyball campaign has come to an end earlier than expected, they still conveyed an unwavering will to keep going throughout the tournament. The Green and White showcased cooperation and commitment in every game.

There will soon be more thrilling games for fans to anticipate from the DLSU Lady Spikers. The UAAP Season 86 beach volleyball tournament was only a sneak peek at their skillset.

Set scores: 8–21, 7–21
