After getting 23andMe or AncestryDNA results you are probably wondering what else can I do with my data? What more can I learn from my DNA? Well, there is a room of possibilities. One of them is to transfer your raw data to another wide known DNA testing service — FamilyTreeDNA.

FamilyTreeDNA recently added an ability to import autosomal DNA data for free: https://www.familytreedna.com/autosomal-transfer. You’ll need your raw file, there are good step-by-step guides for 23andMe and AncestryDNA.

What you’ll get at the end? Shortly after signing a “Release Form” you’ll get access to Family Finder Matches. There are a list of your DNA matches in the FamilyTreeDNA database. Yet, other features of Family Finder, such as myOrigin and Chromosome Browser, will ask a penny to unlock.
