A democratic ride

The Metro train has been one of the rare boons for the people of Delhi. It has suddenly made the public transport-starved megacity (hate the concept of it) so much easier to traverse. It is possibly the only infrastructure development project by the government that saw all its phases getting completed in time with the least amount of trouble for daily commuters.

It has made, what is intrinsic to any good public transport; timely and comfortable conveyance, a reality for he people of Delhi. It feels great to know that people from almost all economic strata can take a clean, air-conditioned and affordable ride across the city.

It has also shown that it is possible to keep public spaces clean in an overpopulated city like Delhi. There are definitely irritants like people sitting on the floor and on the vestibule, listening to music loudly and so on. But overall the experience has been much better than any other public transport in the country.

Every time I have to take a ride, it excites me. My eyes are immediately looking for subjects to draw and usually there are many.
