What I love most about this community is that you fight.

You fight for what you deserve. You fight for how you feel. You fight for the people you love. You fight for what’s right.

I’m so proud to know you, because we sure as hell need you.

If you’re like me, you’re entering into February with a lot of fight in you and also a lot of doubt. We’re only human after all. We have limits. So what do we do?

If we’re going to continue to fight, we can start by remembering two important things:

  1. We have to take care of ourselves.
  2. We have to take care of each other.

So that’s what February is going to be about at DTGS. We’ll focus on self-care and support squads so that you can focus on the fight. Because regardless of what you’re fighting for, DTGS is here to make sure you have what you need to pursue health and take care of your physical self.

Fuel for your fight, am I right?

5 Tips for Self-Care & Support to Fuel Your Fight

#1 Put Your Feelings First: Set a goal that focuses on feelings, not accomplishments. For example, if you’re feeling stressed, how about a mindfulness micro-habit? We’ll help you walk through the process here.

#2 Make a Switch: Identify a habit you have that you don’t feel great about. Then switch that habit for one that will make you feel better. My big change is switching nightly TV for reading instead. Better sleep here I come!

#3 Put Your Phone Down: Give yourself the breather you need by dedicating times during your day to put your phone away and stay away from social media. Seriously though…

#4 Name a Fellow Fighter: Find someone who is fighting the same fight and can be “in it” with you. Then do the really brave thing and ask them for the support you need.

#5 Help Us Help You: Subscribe to The DTGS Weekly for weekly emails with inspiration, tips, and tools for incorporating self-care and support into your life. (Yep, that’s a shameless plug.)

If you have more tips to share or ideas for how we can help, let us know in the comments or send me an email: elizabeth@dothegoodstuff.co.
