Some days you beat Usain Bolt’s world record. Other days, you wake up an hour late, you wear the first outfit you find on your floor that looks kind of clean, and you eat a breakfast that is high in carb, high in sugar, and low in anything else.

Your inner badass isn’t perfect — that’s why (s)he’s a badass. You have good days where you are killing it at life, meeting your goals, making it all happen. Badasses aren’t badasses because they do everything perfectly all the time forever; those are called superheroes, and superheroes are fictional for a reason. Being born perfect at everything isn’t badass; hustling hard and bouncing back after bad days is badass.

So, how do you channel this inner badass? You bring your inner badass to the outer for a minute.

Today, we’re starting with a Power Pose. That’s right. Put down your phone, get out of bed, or move to a place where you won’t be embarrassed by who can see you. Actually, do it in public. At your office. Show the world your inner badass.

Pretend this is you. Look at how confident she looks. Her two feet are placed sturdy on the ground, she knows her foundation. She has her hands in a comfortable yet strong position on her hips. Her eyes are focused, her brain is thinking about how badass she is.

You aren’t faking it until you make it — you are reminding your outsides how you feel on your insides. Because that’s what badasses do.
