The darkness that surrounds,
Above it, are the stars.
Does the night make you shiver?
Does it?

How happy is the quiet rider?
Are you upset by how soundless it is?
Does it tear you apart to see the cowboy so untroubled?
And with the aimless way of his.

All that is little is not midnight rider,
solitude by all accounts is alone.
You ride into the night haunted by the past,
as you travel into the darkness.

Will, you ever find freedom,
do you seek the light?
Forever he rides into
the dead of night.

Into the midnight of
stars and silvery moon.
Searching into the shadows,
until the dusk to dawn.

Thanks for reading my poem The Traveler Into The Night. If you enjoy the story there are other posts writings in Cappuccino Cowboy Series. Have a blessed day!
