I’m scared: is anyone listening?

I’m afraid there’ll be an end of listening.

I’m worried we’re no longer listening to people we disagree with.

And it won’t matter how strong their arguments are…

We won’t listen.

It won’t matter if there’s truth in they say…

We won’t listen.

It won’t even matter if they’re really saying the same thing as we are. We won’t know.

We’d have stopped listening.

But you know the only that that’s more terrifying than your greatest fear?

It’s seeing it look like it might be coming true.

Gulp.

If we can’t talk to each other anymore, what becomes of us?

If we have no more words to say to each other, what have we left?

Elephant-in-the-room alert: This isn’t about Trump. At least not just him, anyway. This is about all of us.
