12-Word Story Challenge Haiku
If you thought the limerick story was low
I don’t share my “process” mostly.
Mostly, because it doesn’t exist, and I don’t really understand what “process” would even mean when it comes to writing on Medium.
But, without going into: outlines, drafts, rewrites, edits, getting drunk, going into rehab, naked swaying in the moonlight, shamans and ayahuasca, toad licking, spitting out toad sweat, meditation, mediation, mastication, credit for time served, and court-ordered supervision, I’ll break my rule and tell you a bit about how the story you’re now reading — and suddenly considered not reading — came to be.
First came the challenge 👇…
… which started me thinking, an always dangerous activity.
Then, can I respond to the challenge with, not a full-on story, but a limerick?
Gauntlet thrown and challenge met. Yes! Sadly, yes I can.
