OOPS! Who popped a boner? Photo by krakenimages on Unsplash

If you MUST write a boner story that involves actual boners we’ll understand. Just make sure it’s funny.

Really though we’d just like to read about your boners. You know, the funny kind, as in embarrassments, fails, and slip-ups.

Still confused?

A boner is also a: blooper, blunder, gaffe, misstep, muff (now there’s one you can fool around with), snafu, faux pas, or a whoopsie.

And in case you’re still puzzled:

My Merriam-Webster defines “boner” as a stupid mistake.

So April is your chance to show-and-tell the world about yours. (This story is poking its head out on April 1st for a reason. Remember that time you pulled an April Fools Day prank at work and set the break room ablaze?)

I’m no cunning linguistic historian but I believe the term “boner” is from the same era that had people believing “gay” meant happy and to ejaculate was to exclaim.

Regardless …
