Do Not Read My Poetry, Sir

Keep your nose out of my business.

Do not read my poetry
as a backdoor to me —
a secret spy hole for to see.

So you can follow my life
Like you want to cause strife
now you no longer blow the fife?

You devour my writing
I guess you find it exciting,
Sir, your attention’s uninviting.

So nice you’re misled
since I’m now being fed
by new passions in my head.

I can conjure up the feelings —
great ideas congealing
turned into words revealing.

‘twould have been better unsaid —
and let you stew in your head,
eating my words as daily bread.

But I prefer you not in my energy
like a bad stench all around me
So I’m telling you for free —

Stop looking at my pages,
memorizing all my phrases
as your life around you swages.

I leave you with these few lines:
Look at the wonder and the signs
I am now the one who shines.

It’s awesome — how we blossom — when the perfect muse comes.
