Eric Trump, often portrayed by comics as cognitively less than half a tank full, finally proved his worth to his father, and it’s far more than 250 pounds — in both the weight and monetary senses.
As you may have heard, a New York judge on Friday fined Donald Trump $5,000 for violating a gag order barring the former president from disparaging court staff during his civil fraud trial, and warning that any future transgressions would bring “far more severe” sanctions including imprisonment. This came as the result of Trump issuing a social media post attacking the judge’s clerk. The post was deleted from the former president’s Truth Social platform but had remained visible on his 2024 campaign website two weeks after the order was issued to take it down.
“I know how to handle this one,” Trump was overheard telling his son Eric. “I’ll pay the fine all right — all five thousand dollars worth, you can be sure of that. But I’ll pay the entire thing in quarters.”
“Quarters?” Eric responded.
“Sure. I’ll have bags of them brought with me to the courthouse when I go next Tuesday.”
