With his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) coming this summer, it’s safe to assume that Eminem is killing off the persona of Slim Shady. However, his latest single, Houdini, has proved that Eminem can still hang in 2024, so it’s almost unfathomable for this to be the end of Eminem’s career altogether. With that in mind, here are some persona’s for Eminem to take up after the impending demise of Slim Shady.

#1. Grim Grady

Slim’s twin brother who was separated at birth was raised in Greenwich. He raps in a heavy English accent, and takes multiple shots at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a lot of his songs. He’ll also bring awareness to strange facts like how royal women must always wear tights and how the monarch celebrates their birthday twice every year.

#2. Fat Sunny

This persona is a complete 180 from Slim. Instead of going for the hard R rating every time, Fat Sunny would be going for some fun-loving, family friendly and clean rap. Straight up G rating, if you will. He’ll rap about everything from sunshine to rainbows, and puppies to sleeping on the most comfortable bed you could fathom.

#3. Emfranchise

By playing off the word ‘Enfranchise,’ Em will do the opposite of what that word defines as while he will rap about how he would function in and interact with various characters in a plethora of TV and film universes. He could go from rhyming about an experience with Venom in the Sonyverse to dropping bars against Jean-Ralphio Saperstein in Pawnee, Indiana. This persona is limitless! Well, except for the fact that each song would be lyrically boxing himself in a different universe, but still!

#4. Red Wing

This is a multi-faceted persona. Let’s get the obvious one out of the way first. Eminem is from Detroit, where the Detroit Red Wings play, so he could certainly take on the embodiment of what it is to be a Red Wing.

The other side of the coin involves Em’s adversary in 8 Mile, Papa Doc, who eventually went on to have a drone called Red Wing. Legend has it that Papa Doc named his drone after this persona, which adds a new wrinkle to the ongoing feud between him and Eminem, but maybe this will be addressed once this persona is brought to life by the man himself.

#5. Hershey

For this persona, it’s all about embracing that M&M’s is a brand under Hershey so that Marshall Mathers is Hershey to Eminem in the same way that Hershey is to M&M’s. With that in mind, Hershey wouldn’t necessarily be a rapper per se. He would be more of a producer for Eminem, making all that candy for your ears. Em would likely give Hershey shout-outs on the odd track here and there to applaud his producing skills.

All in all, I’m expecting the demise of one of rap’s most iconic persona’s to go out with a bang. Who knows what Eminem will do after? He could continue rapping under the name Eminem, or even as Marshall Mathers. He could even stop rapping and pursue a career in selling rabbits. Whatever happens, there’s always room for more personas to be utilized in hip hop.
