In 1993, in Melbourne, Australia (not Florida), Ken Bruce went completely mad. Was he provided with effective mental healthcare and compassion from society?
He was not.
Instead, Ken Bruce was strapped into a straitjacket, surrounded by refrigerators, seated on a rocking chair and screamed at by a parrot.
The parrot repeats ad infinitum, “Ken Bruce has gone mad! Ken Bruce has gone mad! Ken Bruce has gone mad! Ken Bruce has gone mad! KEN BRUCE HAS GONE COMPLETELY MAD!”
Anyone who lived in Melbourne in the 1990s and watched television will still have this tasteful catchphrase squatting somewhere in their head. One of life’s cruellest earworms.
