My Station in Life

So much for philosophy and religion

My station in life
is a station for trains
that sucks up
all the tracks.
Trains off the rails,
they gather to brag
of the bodies they’ve dragged.
They laugh at the fools
who walked towards the light
in the depths of the night,
certain they’d find
God’s loving eye,
the ultimate meaning of life.
Not knowing the size
or the speed of the prize,
they met with their ultimate fate.
Too stupid to know
when they walked
on the tracks,
the light was really
a train.
