Pretty in Pink: The King’s New Portrait
Hideous or Gorgeous? And What’s with the Butterfly?
King Charles just unveiled a new portrait by artist Jonathan Yeo, the first official portrait to be completed since the King’s coronation. I’m no art critic, but I like it.
It’s pink!
There’s a butterfly.
It’s pretty.
But never mind what I think. What about public opinion? Whenever something like this happens, the best part is all the snarky Twitter responses from my fellow amateur art critics.

Well, that’s a vibe.
It looks like he’s in hell.
It’s hideous.
He looks like a dungeons and dragons villain.

Congratulations! You’re finally a tampon.
That’s a solid no from me. Straight to the attic.
It’s bloody awful.
Perfect. Fitting imperialism. Awash in blood. Filled with faces and eyes of lives erased.
He looks like he’s trapped in a jello pudding.
