Rest in peace, beloved symbol of hope
Pirouz wasn’t just the youngest male of a critically endangered species, he was a symbol of hope. The last known male cub of the Asiatic cheetah subspecies, he has passed away aged 10 months after acute kidney failure.
He was a symbol of hope from many perspectives, against extinction of his species, against the barbarity of the Iranian regime and the dream of a country free from the 44-year rule of the Ayatollahs.
